Introduction to ELCB

An Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) is a crucial safety device used  to prevent electric shock and fire hazards caused by leakage of  electrical current.

Types  of  ELCB

There are two main types of ELCB:  1. Voltage Operated ELCB. 2. Current  Operated ELCB.

Voltage Operated ELCB

Voltage Operated ELCB monitors voltage imbalances in circuits and trips  when it detects leakage current, safeguarding against electrical shocks .

Current Operated ELCB

A Current Operated ELCB monitors circuit currents, detecting leaks by comparing input and output currents. It trips to prevent electrical current.
