Indoor Substations
Indoor substations are electrical substations that are installed within a building or an enclosed structure. These substations are typically used in urban areas where space is limited and environmental conditions need to be controlled.
Examples: A substation inside a factory or commercial complex, Substations located in sensitive environments like hospitals or data centers etc.
An indoor substation is a facility where all electrical equipment is installed within a building.
Outdoor Substations
Outdoor substations are electrical substations that are located in an open area and exposed to the natural environment. These substations are commonly used in rural or less densely populated areas where space is more readily available.
Examples: A power distribution substation in a rural area, Utility-Scale Power Generation Sites etc.
An outdoor substation is a facility where electrical equipment is installed outside in an open environment.
